How do i install ubuntu on my computer?
I have heard ubuntu is very efficient and all, and i was thinking about changing from windows vista to ubuntu, but the truth is that, i have absolutely no clue as for how to do it, can anyone help me with this?

you can download the iso from ubuntu burn the iso to a cd/dvd
if you dont know how to make the cd/dvd you can just order it from the ubuntu website
start the computer form the cd/dvd in it
the computer should load from the cd/dvd if it does not you might have to press F10 (or another key depending on what computer you have) to enter the boot menu click on cd/dvd
enter the information that it ask you to enter and you should be done with the install
http://www.ubuntu.org
remember that this will delete everything that you have on your harddrive
if you are new to linux i suggest you try a knoppix live cd first
you run linux from the cd that way you dont have to loose any information and if you dont like it you just take out the cd and you will still have vista

In order to install ubuntu, first visit the their website. Ubuntu developers have also provided a very nice instruction guide on how to install ubuntu.
I’ve found it for you:
https://help.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu/installation-guide/i386/index.html
read it well, and do it without any troubles.
Hope, it helps.
The easy way, get a FAT formated 1g USB drive;
Download a free program called Unetbootin, also download the ubuntu iso, at this time 8.10 is the most current.
Open Unetbootin, and select the radio button on the left that says ISO, point the browse field to where you have the ubuntu iso, click start.
It will run for a couple minutes and when its finished it will prompt you to reboot or exit. If your goal is to get Ubuntu installed on the harddrive your using to make this jump drive select reboot.
You may need to go in to your BIOS and set boot from USB. Once Ubuntu boots just open the Administration menu and select Install to HDD.
Done.
